Pediatric Associate Chief, Ellen M. Chung


Biographical Sketch: Ellen M. Chung, MD, was formerly Chief of Integrated Diagnostic Radiology Services at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and National Naval Medical Center and Chief, Pediatrics Radiology for the American Institute for Radiologic Pathology in Silver Spring, Maryland. She holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.

Educational background: Dr. Chung received her Bachelor of Science and medical degrees at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Her residency was at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii from 1991-1995.  In 2003, Dr. Chung completed her fellowship at the Children’s Hospital, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Certifications: Dr. Chung was certified by the American Board of Radiology in 1995 and received a Certificate of Added Qualification in Pediatric Radiology in 2004.

Publications and Teaching: Dr. Chung is an author of 13 journal articles, 1 abstract, 3 book chapters, and 1 book. She has been very active in the Radiological Society of North America through annual presentations and serving as a contributing editor in the RadioGraphics journal. Dr. Chung served as the Chief of Pediatric Radiology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology for 5 years, providing 8 lectures per radiology-pathology correlation course and providing invited lectures in 6 countries. She is continuing in this role at the American Institute for Radiologic Pathology course.
